ISI/DI: The burning of a Qur’an by a Swedish individual has thrown several Islamic countries into a frenzy, and closed some of the embassies. At the same time, Muslims living in Sweden have started riots as a manner of protests. This has put a fifth of the Swedish population ill at ease and to the point of asking for firearms as a means of protection.
This may also further the cause President Erdogan in refusing to vote for Sweden’s bid to join NATO.
Some days, no matter what you do, you just can’t win. It is now a watch-and-see as to how it all plays out. Even if Sweden does not get the vote, I find kit hard to believe there will not be other agreements on the side between several countries in support of Sweden. The bid to join NATO comes after Russia’s second attack (the first being Russia’s annexing of Crimea) on Ukraine, and no one wants to leave Sweden on her own.
