MOVING THE GOALPOSTS
I have posted more than once on the end time of Islam, according to its own holy books, was set at 1,500 years following the formation of Islam, which was 622 AD. That’s the way it came to me. Well, a mistake has been made and I own it. I made the assumption that since the year 622 was given in AD (Anno Domini, Latin, which translates to “in the year of our Lord,” or more recently, CE for “Christian era”) that the 1,500 years was also understood to be AD, since no other explanation was provided.
Islam has its own calendar and it’s based on the cycles of the moon, meaning it’s a lunar calendar. I will not pretend to know the cycles of the moon, but hopefully the calendar below will help. According to this method of time, the year as we know it, 2025 AD, is the year 1447 AH (where AH means “Year of the Hijrah.” The Hijrah is the migration of the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina in 622 A.D./CE, and the Islamic calendar begins with this event. Therefore, AH indicates the number of years since the Hijrah). I’m already getting confused again. But, what does this mean when we talk of Islam coming to a end in 1,500 years?
I am going to step out on a limb here …… and say that the beginning of Islam, 622 AD, is actually the year 1 AH; now, move that forward 1,500 AH years. 1,500 AH (After Hijra) corresponds to the year 2024 AD (Anno Domini). The Hijri calendar is the Islamic calendar, while AD is the Gregorian calendar. To find the equivalent AD year, you need to know that Hijri year 1 corresponds to AD 622. Therefore, 1,500 AH is 622 + 1500 = 2024 AD.
Yes, that’s right, Islam should have expired LAST YEAR!!! This actually fits much more in line with Islam’s seven years of tribulation, which, according to Iran’s supreme religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated around 2014-2015 time period and ending around 2022, which falls back in line with my earlier thoughts.
This just leaves us with one problem now. Why did Islam not come to an end and what does Islam’s leadership say about this? I’ve put the question out there to several Muslims I know, but I’m not holding my breath for a quick answer. However, when I know it, you will know it.
I’ve read, reread, and rereread the above so many times, I’m not sure what it says anymore. Maybe I still have it wrong. Either way, as I said ……… I own it.

ISI/DI: If you read the ‘article,’ you might surmise that it is not a pretty picture. And, it’s not. However, no amount of explanation will prepare you for what’s coming. I can say that because for over a decade I’ve sounded the alarm …… and I’ve seen few results.
I had hopes that the Institute for the Study of Islam would actually develop into a think tank, pulling in some of the most knowledgeable people, where avenues could be explored, recommendations offered, to become an industry leader, with a respected staff, offering the best counsel on the subject of Islam, that Washington might hear our concerns and take seriously what we had to offer.
if it’s going to happen, it will now fall to the next generation. I hope they arise soon, though. It would be a shame to try and reinvent the wheel, after the groundwork has already been laid.
On another subject, I will be in California for the next week, visiting with family and attending one of our grandson’s high school graduation.
