ISI/DI: This is an ongoing story. It shows the gritty and gruesome parts of war, and even with the horrendous killing that is taking place, it is happening in a very small and concise part of the world ……… even in a small part of the Middle East.

I’m sure we are all familiar with the name, Syria. If not, then probably the name, Damascus, may bring it to the forefront. Damascus, a name out of the Bible. For many children, it may be one of the names they are most familiar with.

Damascus is primarily known as the location of Saul’s (later Paul) dramatic conversion on the road to the city, as described in the Book of Acts, and is also mentioned in Isaiah’s prophecies concerning its future destruction.

In 2004 I remember flying into Damascus, my first (and only) time there. It was brief, just long enough to stretch your legs and change planes. What struck me was the brown air …… like dust from sand if that’s’ possible …… just floating which ever way the wind might be blowing. It was also a busy place. I gathered it was the city traffic causing the sand turn to dust. There was no fighting to be seen, no battles to be fought. Neither was it a place that I could see Saul being prepared to meet his Master and Maker.

As this story unfolds below, though, it was not a place that I would ever dream would face the war taking place there today.

ISI/DI: Time was, not so long ago, Ramadan stood for something holy within the borders of Islam. Prayer took place during the day at a local mosque; there was fasting. As the sun went down though, tables were stacked with food; families gathered together.

That has all changed now, though. There are still some faithful who follow the old ways. However, now, militias are out to hunt, roaming the country-side or moving through the bush — targets already established — some waiting to kill, others waiting to be killed. Gone are the times of prayer, to be replaced by calls of “Allahu Akbar!!!”

ISI/DI: It might seem strange to see one Muslim group out shooting and killing another Muslim group. It’s not that strange, though. If it weren’t for the Christians and Jews ……… especially the Jews ………… there would be few left for other Muslims to war with.

In this case, as it usually is, it comes down to the Sunni and the Shi’a — the Sunni represent somewhere between 85 percent to 90 percent of Islam; the Shi’a represent between five percent and ten percent of Islam.

Why the discrepancy (if there is one), and why the factions? First, let me deal with the factions. Sunni and Shi’a together are actually about 99.9 percent of Islam.

Shi’a believe they are the correct side of Islam; they believe that whoever leads Islam must be a blood descendant of Muhammad. About that, they are adamant. While the Sunni, on the other hand, believe the leader should be elected, and may the best Sunni Muslim win. The rift, though, runs very deep and very broad. I’ll leave some links below where you can learn more about this division.

Now, for the ‘discrepancy’ ……… If you are a Christian (and even if you’re not), you are probably aware of the vast number of denominations that make up the Christian religion.

Globally, there are approximately 1.39 billion Catholics and a range of 800 million to over one billion Protestants.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown:

Catholicism: The Catholic Church, according to the Annuario Pontificio of 2022, reported 1.390 billion baptized Catholics;
Protestantism: Estimates for the number of Protestants vary, with most reliable sources claiming a range of 800 million to over one billion;
Global Christian Population: Christianity is the largest religion by population, with approximately 2.4 billion adherents as of 2023;
Protestantism in the US: In the United States, a Gallup survey from 2023 indicates that about 67 percent of the population is Christian, with the majority being Protestant Christians (140 million; 44 percent).
Catholics in the US: In the US, there are roughly 53 million Catholic adults.

One thing that most people are not aware of is what it is that Christians ‘look’ like to Muslims. Oddly enough, when the term Christian comes up, the reference a Muslim has is of the Catholics. Not today’s Catholics, but the Catholics who lived during the Crusades, and that one word, Crusade, is like throwing a large RED blanket at a bull (I know, bulls are colored-blind when it comes to the color red) — what aggravates them is the waving a big blanket at them.

Protestantism did not come along until nearly 200 years after the last major crusade, and when a Muslim hears Christian, they think all Christian’s are Catholics, not ‘like’ Catholics, just Catholics. And that means, CRUSADES.

Today, there are still Christian mission agencies that at one time or another, had the word ‘crusade’ as part of their name (World Crusade, Campus Crusade, Overseas Crusade, et. al.). If that mission agency were to be involved in any/every part of the world, the word crusade should not be a part of their name. Crusade might only mean an effort, a direction, or a campaign. Not to a Muslim, though. Even with some crusades won by Muslims, the word crusade still leaves a bad taste in their mouth. I am not here to defend or attack the crusades, but they were fought for many different reasons. Money had a lot to do with it. The ‘church’ used the means of a crusade to raise money for itself, which may have had nothing to do with the crusades. Suffice it to say, there were many reasons, some honorable, some not so much.

I think I’m taking the long way around to get to my point. And, the point is, what is that difference between Muslims. Let me try it this way — just as there are numerous Christian denominations (Baptists Presbyterians, Lutherans, Methodists), there are even denominations within denominations (Southern Baptists, Free Will Baptists, American Baptists).

It is similar in the world of Islam. So much so, that there are over 40 Muslim or Islamic denominations. However, most all of Islam will come under the heading of Sunni or Shi’a, whereas in Christendom, it is Catholic or Protestant.

ISI/DI: Yes, you read that name correctly. The same terrorist doing the killings above is the same terrorist on his way to an EU conference.

Fear not, though!!! The conference will be held in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, which has a population of ten million people and five percent of them — over 500,000 — are Muslim. Muslims also constitute about 20 percent of the population of Brussels (not just the capital of Belgium, but also the capital of the European Union). Over 300,000 Belgian Muslims are of Moroccan ancestry and over 160,000 are Turkish ……… which is something of a misnomer.

You may recall that President Erdogan of Turkey has been providing land, citizenship, cash, vehicles, passports, more cash — the list goes on — to any terrorist of Al-Qaida, ISIS, etc., who opt to immigrate to Turkey.

Does that mean the Turkish Muslims, by proxy, are now in Belgium?

Turkey could be America’s biggest headache in the Middle East, thanks to Israel’s decapitation of Hezbollah and the subsequent collapse of the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria.

In the aftermath of the Second World War, Turkey made the historic choice of siding with the free world and the Western Bloc. This policy led Turkey to become a member of NATO in February, 1952.

As a member of NATO, Turkey is privy to certain aspects of Western intelligence and also stores certain nuclear armaments within its borders. Yet, its intelligence service, the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), has been a major supporter of jihadist terrorists.

Turkish government defectors and other Turkish government documents say the MIT trained and equipped ISIS fighters in Syria.

Turkish intelligence facilitated the transfer of ISIS foreign fighters from Istanbul and bused them into Syria. A former Turkish parliamentary leader noted in 2014 about the MIT, “Every-one knows that they’re helping ISIS.”

Hamas leaders represent a small number of terrorists currently enjoying a safe haven in Turkey.

The collapse of the Assad regime guarantees that Turkey will become an increasing competitor to Israel.

Turkey boasts the second-largest army in NATO. Its 355,000 men under arms is more than double that of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) with its 170,000 soldiers.

This is irregardless of the fact that Turkey occupies a large self-proclaimed security zone across northern Syria.

Syria’s new government retains an intimate connection with Turkish intelligence, according to documents uncovered by a Turkish journalist.

Turkey could become an even larger threat due to its place inside the NATO order.

ISI/DI: The story behind this is one of horror ……… it is a horror that all of this happened — is happening — when it might have been avoided.

Then, why wasn’t it?

We see what we want to see, just as we ignore what we don’t want t to know. I’ve been pointing out the direction I see Islam going for twelve years, now, but very few have chosen to see it. Yet, as we look around the globe, country-after-country is slipping away into the quagmire that Islam presents.

To make it even worse, Islam is using the same technique or Playbook. Islam has a plan for each country or continent.

Look at Africa — it is a third-world continent. What plan is Islam using? Terrorism, but it is a different form of terrorism that is being used in the United States or Western Europe. It is terror organizations such as Boko Haram, Al-Qaida, and ISIS. It is mortal combat and people are dying one-by-one just as they are dying hundreds at a time.

What sort Playbook actions is Islam using in the United States and Western Europe? They are using a much more sophisticated type of terrorism — it is a terrorism of politics. Europe is on the way out, from the UK to Northern Europe, Central Europe, and Southern Europe. America has been a little more difficult for Islam to reach, but that is only because it is an ocean away. Does that mean Islam is losing. No, not at all. It just means Islam must …… and is …… adapting. Islam is like a chameleon. It is learning to adapt wherever they are. And, that means they no longer have to assimilate. With them, they carry everything they need …… not the least of which is the law …… Shari’a …… Islamic Law.

ISI/DI: Viktor Mihály Orbán is a Hungarian lawyer and politician who has been Prime Minister of Hungary since 2010, previously holding the office from 1998 to 2002. He has also led the Fidesz political party since 2003, and previously from 1993 to 2000.

Orban is also a shining light in a dark Europe. He has consistently stood up to the Muslim invasion that has taken Europe by storm by seeing that strong immigration laws were in place an even stronger workforce at the borders. Today, Hungary remains nearly impregnable to the Islamic onslaught ………… because when someone stood up to say something, and Hungary (and Orban) listened. They listened, made a decision, and then acted on that decision, which is at least two more steps than most anyone else has done.
