POLITICAL COMMENTS:
ISI/DI: I do my best to stay away from making political comments. However, being in the middle of a political event such as our presidential elections here in the United States, it’s not always possible when political events are also woven in to the fabric of our daily lives.
Islam, terrorism, Muslims serving in our government, are all part of who we are, what we do, and where we’re going. Not to comment would be to ignore what is taking place. It is how and when comments are made, though, that should determine their relevance and importance.
That being said, I have chosen to display the political posts, but without personal comment. You be the judge.

THE MIDDLE EAST:
ISI/DI: Israel is currently fighting a ten-front-war, with (1) Hamas in Gaza, (2) Hezbollah in Lebanon, (3) the Houthis in Yemen, (4) the pro-Iran Kataib Hezbollah in Iraq, (5) the Alawite-led army in Syria, (6) the terrorists of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in the West Bank, and (7) the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps’ conventional forces in Iran. If you were to add the (8) international press, the (9) United Nations, as well as the (10) public (home and abroad) — at the very least, it’s a stacked deck.
While it is a lot to contend with, the IDF is now coming to the end of its war with (1) Hamas in Gaza, has caused great damage to the (3) Houthis’ port of Hodeidah, is continuing its airstrikes on (2) Hezbollah outposts and weapons depots in Lebanon, keeps killing terrorists in the (6) West Bank, continues to strike at targets in (5) Syria where Iranian weapons have been waiting for delivery to (4) Hezbollah, and has fired at the (7) pro-Iranian militia in Iraq. Israel has also attacked Iranian targets, including centrifuge arrays used to enrich uranium, petrochemical plants, and most recently, the Jewish state destroyed part of an S-300 long-range air defense system in Isfahan. If you did add the (8) international press, the (9) United Nations, as well as the (10) public (home and abroad) — it becomes much more than a stacked deck.
But all this activity on so many fronts has led, some analysts fear, to Israel paying less attention than it formerly did to the greatest threat of all — Iran’s nuclear program, which would allow Tehran to build nuclear weapons “within months,” if not sooner.
Bodies of six Israeli hostages recovered from Gaza
ISI/DI: As of 24 July 2024, 116 hostages had been returned alive to Israel, with 105 being released in a prisoner exchange deal, four released by Hamas unilaterally and seven rescued by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Thirty bodies of hostages were repatriated to Israel, with three of the hostages killed by friendly fire from the IDF and the bodies of twenty-seven hostages repatriated through military operations. Sixty-six hostages were reportedly killed on October 7 or in Hamas captivity according to Israel. As of 20 August 2024, 105 hostages remained …… hopefully, still alive, but with no further proof-of-life since April 24th.

ISI/DI: What could be worse than having a loved one held hostage by a group of terrorists who leave their mark on innocent civilians …… the marks of rape, sadism, pillaging, and most any other type of horror imamigable?
The mark of mental torture and derived pleasure that the terrorists of Hamas gain from such barbaristic actions is one of the lowest acts displayed by any animal who portrays being a human being.
That is what is worse.

ISI/DI: Trump has left a mark on America that may well go down as showing him one of the greatest presidents in the history of the United States. You don’t have to like him …… his accomplishments do not rely on his ‘likability.’
He has changed the face of the Supreme Court; during his administration we saw jobs sky-rocket to the benefit of many “blue-collar” professionals; America was respected on the international stage — one of the greatest achievements was the Abraham Accords.

ISI/DI: It was just about this time two years ago when a young woman was shot and killed by the so-called “morality police.”
Mahsa Amini killed in September 2022 sparked nationwide protests against the country’s mandatory headscarf, or hijab, laws and its ruling theocracy, a U.N. fact-finding mission said.
The Iranian people were brought to the edge of perhaps over-throwing the government and tensions were tight for months-on-end.
How far the population will go …… just what will it take before finally boiling over, no-one can say.

ISI/DI: Two of Iran’s proxies, Hamas and Hezbollah, have a sizable presence in South America. Finding this incident in Argentina before it could actually kill civilians was fortunate.

ISI/DI: This is what happens when a government starts to slide down the slippery slope they thought they could so conveniently walk. It’s known as, “give them an inch and they’ll take a mile.”
This is the first step that leads to Shari’a. It’s completely one sided and leaves the door wide open for Islamic Law.
The one thing that keeps America from going down this road is our right to FREE SPEECH. We lose that —as rough as it may get, we have lost it all.

ISI/DI: The best way to stop Islamophobia is to stop the terrorism. The ‘blasphemy’ is simply a by-product, a reaction, that is in response to terrorism. Rational people should be able to sit down together and see the cause-and effect.
HOWEVER, the terrorists are not/NOT rational individuals. They have been brainwashed, practically since birth. They are singular in thought, following the instructions of those even more irrational than themselves.

These Are My Own Stories:
ISI/DI: My biological father was a civilian engineer who literally worked all over the world. His work stretched from Kodiak, Alaska (before statehood) to numerous countries in South America, to the Middle East. I have no idea what moved him to work so much overseas, but I expect he is the reason I went …… genes, I guess. By the time I was five, he and my mother were divorced. My memories of him are few and far between, and not many were good. That’s another story, though, and probably not one for telling.
The pictures were taken in 1947. Before my first birthday, we (him, my mom, and I) lived in Saudi Arabia. He worked on the oil pipeline for what is known today as Saudi Aramco, or just Aramco.
By my third birthday we lived in Alaska and by my fourth we were in Panama. It would be another sixteen years before I would go overseas again — Vietnam; another thirteen and my international career was launched. Today, at 77, I’ve managed to put “boots-on-the-ground” in 68 countries. That, though, is also, another story.
Back to the pictures. As I mentioned, my father took these. They show some of the results of Shari’a, Islamic Law. I have no idea of the circumstances in which these pictures were taken nor the crimes committed that warranted such punishment.
I believe the public display was meant to warn others of what their fate could be for breaking the law. My father is in the bottom picture, in the back, second from the right.

ISI/DI: In a newsletter that came out maybe, a year ago, I said the outlook was very bleak for Christians in Nigeria. Nothing has changed since then, except more and more Christians continue to be murdered.
Basically, I had written off the remaining Christians in Nigeria. I simply did not see any future for them in that country. Today, I see even less. The elections this last year put Muslims squarely in the seat of power …… a Muslim is now president of the country and rather than a Christian as the VP, as was the practice of so many years, the VP is also a Muslim.
Muslims now have full control of the government. The elected officials are Muslim; leadership of both, the police and the military, are also Muslims.
I was first in Nigeria in the mid-90s. Islam was very prominent at that time, and the Christian residents could see something that I could not — the scales of Muslim’s vs. Christian’s was slipping away, in favor of Islam.
Nearly a decade later found us living in Zimbabwe, and at the end of our tour. I had been asked for by name from two posts — (Abuja) Nigeria and (Beijing) China. The Lord does some funny things at times. After receiving two requests from Nigeria, I still turned them down.
What I saw was the crime …. major thefts, murders, larceny …… it was not a safe place in the day-time, and much worse at night. Being single might have been different but I also had my wife to consider.
Did I choose right? Did I turn down an offer that perhaps God had picked for me? We may never know. I have no regrets in the decision made. But, still ……
