TERRORISM

DR Congo: Muslims murder at least 14 civilians, torch two houses, army does nothingHere’s The Story …

SOURCE: https://www.jihadwatch.org/2022/06/dr-congo-muslims-murder-at-least-14-civilians-torch-two-houses-army-does-nothing

ISI/DI: Democratic Republic Congo — is a landlocked country in central-Africa. Land — the DRC is the second largest country in Africa, and the 11th largest in the world. To help put that in perspective, the DRC is about three and a third times the size of Texas or one and a third times the size of Alaska. It’s big. It is also a country that is ranked over 95 percent Christian and 1.5 percent Islamic. However, the country also suffers from a weak political structure, which might count for the response by the military. No one, especially if not trained, wants to go up against radical jihadists.

ISI/DI: Burkina Faso was in a recent issue of TIPS. This is more of the same. I expect this area of Africa to fall to the Islamists within the next five years.

Hindu tailor murdered in India’s Udaipur over prophet remarks rowHere’s The Story …

SOURCE: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/6/29/hindu-tailor-murdered-in-indias-udaipur-over-prophet-remarks-row

ISI/DI: This is really a puzzle to me. A remark was made about Muhammad marrying an underage child — which he did. Yes, the age is debatable, but reported to be somewhere between the age of five and nine — and still underage. The incident was reported as true by more than one Islamic cleric; it can be found in history books and research materials. In short, it is true. Yet, there are some Muslims who continue to use it as an excuse to murder people.

Over 35,000 women and girls in Belgium affected by female genital mutilation .. Here’s The Story ..

SOURCE: https://www.brusselstimes.com/246414/over-35000-women-and-girls-in-belgium-affected-by-female-genital-mutilation

ISI/DI: The statistics in this article are chilling. It’s another one of those ”things” that make you wonder what sort of world do we live in, where things like this still take place, especially in a developed western European country.

Man throws acid on former wife in Bareilly for spurning proposal to remarry, arrestedHere’s the Story …>

ISI/DI: Throwing acid seems to be a favorite in this part of the world. When we lived in Tbilisi back at the turn of the century (I always wanted to say that 🙃), we found ourselves being in the crosshairs of an individual, and were warned to be vigilant about such things. I understand Putin has used or authorized others to use such tactics.

Bangladesh: 79 Hindus killed, 56 temples attacked, 468 homes vandalized, $2,783,170 in damageHere’s The Story …

SOURCE: https://www.naijaonpoint.com/bangladesh-79-hindus-killed-56-temples-attacked-468-homes-vandalized-2783170-in-damage/

ISI/DI: Is the writer of this story right? No one cares about this story just because it doesn’t fit someone’s paradigm?

Women and children, brutally — savagely — murdered. These are the hardest stories for me to post. I read them, then have to reread them again, thinking, ”Did it really say that?” or, ”They did what?

I see hundreds of stories of this nature each week, and wonder sometimes where will it all stop? How many more have to die?

IRAN

US tries again to get Iran to accept hundreds of billions of dollarsHere’s The Story …

ISI/DI: The prior administration — the one before Trump — gave suitcases full of cash to Iran. In fact, the Washington Post put a $1.7 billion price tag on it. Why did we give Iran $1.7 billion … $1,700,000,000 … and why are we still trying to give them more money and the BOMB.

ISI/DI: Yes, the talks will end … and probably end badly.

TURKEY

No respite for Kurds as Turkey’s security forces ramp up repressionHere’s The Story …

ISI/DI: The Kurds have been seeking a return to their homeland for generations. In the meantime, they have supplied Turkey with men for its military, teachers, journalists, businesses, etc. Yet, Turkey still oppresses them. The Kurds are dispersed throughout the Middle East now — Syria, Iraq, as well as Turkey and other countries — but no homeland.

The Takeaway: Turkey still has final say on Sweden, Finland NATO bids .. Here’s The Story ..

SOURCE: https://www.al-monitor.com/originals/2022/06/takeaway-turkey-still-has-final-say-sweden-finland-nato-bids?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=security%20briefing%206302022%20June%2030%202022%20503&utm_content=security%20briefing%206302022%20June%2030%202022%20503+CID_417c031d72461e9ca67f306c42d80fcb&utm_source=campmgr&utm_term=Sweden%20Finland%20and%20Turkey

ISI/DI: Turkey is trying to play political football with NATO. If not careful, they may be out in the cold, with only Erdi’s dreams of a new Ottoman Empire.

Can he achieve his dreams by staying within NATO? I don’t see how. It will be hard enough with so many terrorist organizations, not to mention Iran and the Shi’as. There are, however, a number of Asian countries — Indonesia for one, which is the largest Islamic country in the world with over 275,000,000 people and over 86 percent of them being Muslim. If Indonesia were to follow Turkey’s lead, I believe the rest of southeast Asia’s Muslim countries and perhaps some of central Asia’s Muslim countries would follow suit.

Turkey: Erdoğan Fishing for Trouble in the Aegean Sea – AgainHere’s The Story …

ISI/DI: This is now raising some questions I asked a year ago. Turkey and Greece are both NATO members — NATO members are not supposed to attack one another, although, Turkey and Greece have had altercations over Cyprus for years. Other questions arise as well — what about the US base at Incrilik? Nuclear arms?

In recent years, too many countries have been seeking expansion at a cost to others — China in the South China Sea, infringing on Taiwan, Australia, Japan, Korea, and Philippines; Russia and Ukraine; Turkey and Greece; and Turkey and Cyprus. There have also been other smaller clashes, but these are the ones involving Russia, China, and Turkey that need to be placed in check. Their’s is an aggression that violates human rights and possibly the committing of crimes against humanity.

Turkey most likely will not be expelled from NATO any time soon, but it needs to establish its priorities and decide if being a NATO member is more important than the persomal ambitions of its president.

ISI/DI: Recent reports have indicated that Israel and Arab states have held ‘unprecedented’ and ‘secret’ talks, initiated by the US, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The report says, Israel, the US and Saudi Arabia, along with Egypt and Gulf countries took part in the meetings.

“Meanwhile, another report says the US ‘secretly reviews Israel’s plans for strikes against Iranian targets in Syria’ and there is talk of a Middle East ‘NATO.

“It’s hard to keep up with the various stories, since several weeks ago another article in the WSJ, said Israel and Saudi Arabia had held talks.

“And on June 20 it said that Israel ‘expands operations against Iranian nuclear, military targets.’”
