CAIR-Florida’s Advocacy Hubs burrow deep into Florida’s political machine, blending Islamic goals with far-left activism. Florida stands firm as a red state under Governor Ron DeSantis today. Fail to crush this threat now, and the Sunshine State will quickly devolve into a Red/Green hellscape.
ISI/DI: While things may be getting close to the boiling point in Florida, I have no doubts that Governor Ron DeSantis will do what needs to be done to curb this wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Meanwhile, Texas is on the move, pulling the plug on Epic City, just outside of Dallas.
As of October 2025, EPIC City, a proposed master-planned community near Josephine, Texas, is not operational due to ongoing legal and regulatory issues.
Texas state authorities have halted construction and are investigating the development, despite a recent favorable decision from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Factors Affecting the EPIC City Development
- Ongoing State Investigations: A dozen Texas agencies are investigating the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC), the organization behind the project, for alleged legal violations. These investigations cover aspects like land use, securities, and business structure, and are being led by Governor Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton;
- Federal Civil Rights Investigation Closed: In July 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice closed its investigation into the project. The DOJ found no grounds to proceed with a lawsuit after developers, Community Capital Partners (CCP – Chinese Communist Party? — I would have thought they could come up with a different name/acronym …… but, maybe there’s a story brewing here), assured federal officials the community would be inclusive and follow fair housing laws;
- State-Level Legislative Ban: In September 2025, Governor Abbott signed House Bill 4211, which bans residential property developments like EPIC City from creating Shari’a-governed compounds and discriminating against Texans. Developers maintain they will comply with state and federal laws;
- Construction Halted: Governor Abbott issued an executive order to halt construction on the project. This order was issued after the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) stated that developers had not applied for the correct permits;
- Securities Law Violations: In October 2025, Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that his office found evidence that the developers behind EPIC City had broken state and federal securities laws.
Important Distinction: EPIC City vs. Epic Waters
It is important not to confuse the planned EPIC City community with Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark. The waterpark is a separate and operational business in Grand Prairie, Texas.
